INTRO TO PHYSICS WITH EARTH AND SPACE SCIENCE
This course is the first of a two-course sequence. This course will use a conceptual approach in developing relationships among physics and earth/space sciences. An interdisciplinary approach to content development will be used as a tool for building these relationships. Laboratory and process skills will be an integral part of the program. Content will be developed through hands-on, minds-on laboratory activities utilizing technology as a tool for collecting and analyzing data and reporting experimental results.
Students must have successfully completed Algebra 1 or currently be in Algebra 1 to enroll.
The PEs in this course are based on those described in A Framework for K-12 Science Education and are structured into four bundles of study: (1) Mechanical Energy, (2) Gravitational Energy, (3) Electromagnetic Energy, and (4) Matter/Energy in Earth’s systems.
